Hello I have an Airbnb rented in a week, between honey harbour and wolverine Beach.
I have never fished this area for the before. I see lots of bays, and islands that will be great spots for fishing. Are there any trends people like to try and hook into muskie or pike? or specific structure to try and focus this time of year
I mostly fish bass but have heard there are so big fish in the area would be nice to target for a bit

I would expect to see a lot more people fishing than you would expect. Lol I’ve only fished it once and even though I caught fish it seemed like I was at a tourist attraction for all the people cabins and boats a lot of bears in the area used to handouts when people leave there coolers outside and garbage laying around. Seen some huge gar pike and caught largemouth and pike

Fishing the weed edges is a great start there. I believe some of the channels in honey harbour are the busiest anywhere on the Great Lakes. But you can find some bays and areas all to yourself. There is enough shoreline that you won’t be able to fish it all. I’ve caught pike bass and Muskie in the same area on the same day. What size of boat and motor do you have?

Thanks everyone have mapped out some deep points and hunps jumps to scan while out there, and definitely will look for the less travelled areas to try and fish without the traffic around

Many years ago I fished the area for a week. Found massive schools of Smallmouth Bass and caught a ton. Look for round boulder cover bottoms and that’s where I found them.

Honey Harbour is a fun area to fish (if you can avoid the boat traffic). There are lots of areas where you will find great bass fishing (both smallies and largies). Look for the big boulder piles with easy access to deep water. You will find pike mixed in there as well. I've yet to catch a true tank, but I don't target them. (I'm usually going for bass - and they bite my outrageously expensive jerk bait off LOL)
The great thing about that area is if the wind picks up, there are always lots of islands to hide behind.
