My friend sabmg-Steve had his sad day.
Mine came about a month ago. My 10 year old mid size Nissan SUV came down with a litany of problems and was undriveable after only 143,000km, despite having been taken care of and well maintained.
Decided I didn't want to put a lot of money into a vehicle that old, even if they could get parts.
So I traded it in "as is" and let the dealer take it now, even though i will have wait 3 months for my new 2023 Ford Escape.
Since I was replacing the mid -size SUV, I wanted to get a compact SUV for better gas mileage. Only 2 Compact SUV's will tow my boat, the Escape and a Subaru Forester.
If I get the Escape in time, I may get out for some fishing in October.

Well Ralph, you did well with the pathfinder in my opinion. I bought one in 2013 as well and traded it a year to the day later, so you did pretty good with yours. I didn't think the escapes pulled much but I know you would have checked that out I have driven them a few times for work thought they were a bit small for me, but they drove nice. I'm sure you are going to enjoy the ford and yes my sad day is probably half as bad as yours, Good news is the mechanic just told me it might be ready by tomorrow, so maybe fishing by the weekend.

Sorry about the issue with your vehicle, Ralph. As said above, it's better than issue with yourself.
Didn't know a Nissan SUV is that 'bad' after such a relatively low mileage. (I have an 11 year old Volkswagen Jetta TDI with over 250,000KM on it, and it just keeps going and going, and I hope I can 'push" it for another 250,000KM:-)

Hey James, good luck with the VW.
I've been buying Nissan vehicles for nearly 30 years and this Pathfinder could best be described as a "lemon" and over the years the quality, durability and reliability has deteriorated.
I won't be buying anymore and I hope I have better luck with the Ford Escape I have on order, as at my age it is probably the last new car I will buy. Dealer called last week to say it is due to be built before month end.
Might still have a chance to get the boat on the water this year.

Ralph you haven't got that escape yet wow. I had a 08 escape that I gave to my oldest who gave it to my youngest. The youngest just shipped it to the junk yard, had 400 000km on it, so if they make them like they used too you will have a good vehicle.
