Well folks,
With the little one in my household, I haven't had much time to fish..
Just the way it is. Been busy with family events and visits, since everyone wants to meet and spend time with the baby..

I managed a couple of hours shore fishing at one of the spots, I had success in the past. I usually fish this area in early June, but could not get out. Didn't expect much in the middle of July, but managed 1 for 1. Getting a decent pike approx 25 inches. Fishing a weed and rock mixture in 6 fow. It hit a purple spinnerbait. Fish has an open scar wound, not sure what caused it..

At least i'm on the board in here with a fish.. LOL

Cheers & happy fishing!

What is the round scar on the fish? Seems like lamprey? I didn't know (and didn't think) lamprey is in Kawartha lakes. Is it?

Yes it does look like a lamprey scar, but never seen a lamprey there so I think it might be one of those tumor growth scars that I have seen on pike. Most likely the growth fell off and now we see this open wound.

I saw it many times on Georgian Bay pikes. Always was wondering what it is.
