Today was the first time that I've been to Rosedale since very early spring this year. I was quite surprised to see the new concrete ramp there. It is very nice, but I wish they had made it just a bit steeper in grade. I have to get the rear tires of my truck in the water to float my boat off the trailer, and the same thing trying to load it again. Not an easy thing to do on my own. Fortunately I got some help from someone waiting to launch when I was trying to get out.
Because of the ramp, Sturgeon will be my new go-to lake instead of Balsam. I really enjoy that lake and have found several areas where it is very rare not to catch some bass. I also know Sturgeon fairly well, and the ramp at the foot of West Street suits my needs very well, and I don't have a long hike to park, which my arthritic hips really appreciate!!

Too bad the municipal workers people who actual build the ramp weren't fisherman. If so, they would realize long low grades on ramps are a no-no.
Well... at least they built a concrete one.

I am sure you will have some great fishing on your future trips to Sturgeon. What side of the lake or what town is the West street ramp. I have never used that one to get onto Sturgeon lake.

It's on the west side of the upper lake, almost directly across the river from the Bobcageon park ramp that's not yet open. There's not much parking around there....only on the road around the ramp.
