Sorry to hear your situation but lots of great advice given above…..many many people have been in the same spot you are in and have come out just fine - and I speak from first hand experience. With your outlook you don’t have any worries.

Thank you very much. Just came back from a quick trip up to the family house by Sturgeon. Caught a couple fish for a BBQ dinner. Good luck next time you are out on the water.

If your let go was not done legally, you need legal advice. At 24.5 years, they owe you something. You don't mention being compensated so I hope you know you are entitled to it.
Even middle managers who are cleared out from multinational companies receive some sort of compensation.
Just a thought....but go ask the competition if they want to hire an experienced guy. You may even get more money for your knowledge.

Thank you for the advice. So many of the members have contributed on this post, and it is appreciated. That is what I was hoping for just in case someone was going through a similar situation. Or someone just going through a tough time in general. Sometimes reading about a similar situation can help a person out there that won't ask for assistance. You just never know how far a kind word can go in this world. It can snowball and the affects can be a life changer. I bet you guys here on the forum are the ones holding the door for people. Keep up the good work. The world needs more love and kindness.

Sorry to hear about this...
AS others have mentioned........it's tough but new pathways open up
This happened to me when I was about your age and we relocated down to the south and I started my charter fishing business.....took some work to get it going, but we never looked back and it took me to a place where i absolutely loved what i was doing

Well you made the right choice. You sure have made many people happy with your fishing charters. I enjoy reading the posts very much. Hard to find people that love what they do. There is always time to start a new adventure, or revise an old one......no matter who you are.

Hope you consulted a labor lawyer my friend....you are owed.....with 24+ years service, you are owed quite a bit....
Thank you for the advice. I can't get into any details for obvious legal reasons. A fortunate circumstance happened to me years ago. I was educated in labour law so many options are out there. That's another good reason for all the members feedback on this post. Sometimes a story goes up on the forum about fishing, hunting, camping, or anything for that matter. Never too old to take advice or learn something new.
