Started fishing at 6pm. Perch and large mouth bass. So many 8 to ten inch bass lost count. It was non stop action on the crank baits. The bass were right at the surface picking off minnows one after another.

It was a beautiful night to fish. Cool breeze that went from NW to W then SW then SE by 5am with some rain drops. I kept a couple 11 inch crappie and the two walleye. Sun came out in Cameron an hour ago so on the BBQ the fish went with some nice sweet corn I picked up at a stand on Angiline st. In Lindsay. That's all for now. The big storm was not big here today. We watched it role by from the deck.

Nice outing, nice catch, nice meal.. All around Nice Job
That's what fishing is all about, relaxing and good times..
Thanks for the report.
Thank you. I forgot to post the water on Sturgeon was very stained...like green tea. If anyone is out there fishing, I found the bright glowing like colours were working the best. Also the fish can feel and or sense the vibrations and of your bait. But the visual senses and smell are hindered due to that much silt in the water. The exception being walleye, they like stained water. So you can try and slow down your retrieve a bit so the fish don't miss the bait as it goes by them. I am not sure if the whole lake is stained, it's a big lake.

We’re you shore fishing or out in a boat?
I was on Sturgeon just fishing at my friends from shore. He didn't feel like fishing. He was mad when he woke up and found out the fish were hungry. I heard today they caught a couple in the boat around the same area, but a bit deeper...(9 to 10 feet, at the edge of the weed line.)

Great report, @crappeeeman! Yesterday, I went out to Pegon Lake and caught a single bass in a span of 2 hours.
Sorry the fishing was not better for you. Was the water stained on Pigeon as well? That could be why the fish were scarce for you. Bass have great eyesight, but not so much in stained water. Walleye on the other hand love stained water, and do feed more during the day if the water is murky or silty after a storm. Walleye in the bright of day will be hiding deeper down in the weeds. Crappie are just a complete predator in a class all by themselves. A smart and perfect eating machine. Clear water, stained water, daylight or the dark of night. Crappie will feed around the clock when ever they feel like it. Some people like Dbfish enjoy a successful outing of crappie fishing during the day. My favourite time is at night mostly, I find the monster crappie are more aggressive at night. I hope you have a bit more time to fish and better luck next time you are out on the lake. I was fishing from 6pm until almost 7am so the clock was at my advantage. And many of the fish that were caught were small. Just got lucky enough to bring a few home for a BBQ.

Sorry, forgot to post this yesterday. If anyone has some free time starting right now until tomorrow at lunch time, here is a tip. GO FISHING in the Balsam, Cameron, Sturgeon etc. etc. area. Fishing will be great day or night. Conditions are perfect right now. West winds and south winds depending on which day you choose. If you don't like wind get off the water by lunch time tomorrow. That is when the wind picks up and maybe thunderstorms after that. Whether you are after panfish or bass, walleye, crappie and even muskie, the next 24 hours will be excellent fishing. Post a picture of your catch, looking forward to seeing some photos. Don't forget to check the forecast before you go out anytime on the water. Good luck and stay safe. The fish will not be lazy today sitting on the bottom. They will be suspended in stalking mode, swimming around looking for their prey. Medium to shallow baits during the day depending on where you are fishing. Don't waist your time fishing deep water today or tomorrow. Tonight the walleye and crappie will hit anything two feet under the surface if you are in 6 to 10 feet of water.
