Hey guys, hope everyone's year has been going great, just had a quick question about my Humminbird Helix 5. Have had this particular unit for like 6 years now and have never had any issues, but a few times this year when I've been out it would just turn off. If I turn it back on, sometimes it'll turn off again, while sometimes, it'll be good for the time I'm out on the water. Not sure what it might be, so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Electrical Connection? Check the power wires to the unit and replace / clean any corroded connectors.

I agree 99 per cent of the time it's connection issue. if you are certain that all connections have correct power, then take your unit to a shop and have them hook it up there

I did that once when i thought all my connections were good....took it to local shop and it worked perfectly

Dealing with this now on my Garmin 75sv unit. Worked perfectly for years and now intermittently shuts down. Runs for hours when sitting in the driveway and haven't been able to replicate the issues. I have checked and rechecked connections and I read on another forum it could be the battery on its way out. I'm going to install a new dual purpose marine battery.

How old is your battery?

Thanks everyone for the input, much appreciated. I got new batteries in '21 so I wouldn't think it would be them, but I'll test them and check their volts and everything to see where they stand regardless, and go from there.
