An all new adventure.

Just thought to share this with all of the members. Times have been tough for many people in the last few years. Too many situations and experiences unique to each individual to write about. I do believe these times are especially hard on young families getting started. I am writing this just in case someone reading this is going through a tough time write now. Don't give up and don't give in. A few days ago I was released from my job after 24.5 years. I will not get into any details, but will say that I was not prepared for this. At first the thoughts of why me, why now popped into my head. What am I going to do now was another thought that consumed my mind. My body moved quickly to the point of feeling dizzy and sick and wondering what I would tell my family and friends. Embarrassed, humiliated for something completely out of my hands. Being a blue collar worker and following the bosses orders for years, just happy to have a good job and paycheck. Now what does one do when something like this happens, at almost 60 years old. If this story sounds similar to anyone reading it. Or if you are just going through a hard time right now with something completely different. Remember this...You are never too old or too young to get back on your feet and say...This will not get the best of me. My situation will improve. It is time for a "Whole New Adventure." Some of our grandfathers and great grandfathers and great great grandfathers and their families went through harder times than these. They pressed on and succeeded, because here we all are to prove just that. Ask for help if you need it, that is what family and friends are for. There is much love and wisdom in relationships that can go beyond what is needed with even more to spare. I am not sure if any of these words will encourage someone at this time. I just felt the need to right it. The sun will come up tomorrow and people will have problems. How we overcome our problems is what makes us stronger. How we may assist people with their problems makes us a better human being. Take someone fishing or what ever it is they like to do. I kind word and being a good listener can make all the difference in a persons life. Good luck out there. Stay safe.

Sorry to hear about your job loss. It sounds like you have the right attitude to get past this and move forward in a positive way.

Sorry to hear about this. Stay positive, but not sure I would be able to if I were walking in your shoes.
Read your post to my older son. He did good at school, studied hard at university and graduated with good marks. Could not find job for more than a year. Trying to keep him positive...

Wow....real sorry to hear of the job loss.....love your attitude.....sending some good vibes and hoping you can pick up another job. If you dont or cant get hired then start something for yourself....I do lawn care in the summer and snow in the winter.....and fix small engines all year round......works good for me. I retired at 59.5 and started collecting CPP at 60. That was 14.5 years ago. Keep your chin up CM and find your niche.

I really appreciate the comments from you guys. "Thank you." There are some real gentlemen on this Fishing Forum. The past few years I have seen good advice passed on from one member to another on fishing topics. I have also read genuine and compassionate words written from member to member to boost their spirits during a time of grief, distress, concern, or just frustration. Surely there is a need for friends in this world that may never even meet face to face. But still be able to communicate through key strokes on a computer, to collaborate on a topic, or just share a funny fishing story. Hopefully my story will be of some assistance to someone that is frustrated with a situation they are dealing with right now. There truly is some first rate people on this Fishing Forum. Keep up the good work.

I was very sorry to learn about your job situation and I can tell you from personal experience that I understand exactly what you're going thru .

It's not easy, I know. But having been there, I know it's all going to be good for you eventually. as one door closes but many more new ones open.

Stay strong, seek a legal advise re your compensation /severance rights , get support from your loved ones and keep doing what you love and what you believe in.

Thank you JB and Drew. Just like fishing, patience and knowledge solve many problems. I always take one step at a time. It never pays to skip a step in a legal matter. But of course I can't give out any details. I will say this, so many stories and advice on this fishing forum from the members to others is very kind. Giving good advice and taking good advice are admirable qualities. Some of you...many of you must know the true meaning of living off the land. Taking what you need from mother nature, and giving back to her as well.

Crappeeeman sorry to learn about your current situation . I made a career change at 43 years of age and it was the best thing i could have done. I have also been in your situation and always came out better on the other side. This may be your opportunity to start your guiding career a little ahead of schedule lol. Damn Jaime, sorry to hear about the job loss. It certainly sucks, but you seem to have the right attitude. I'm sure you'll get this figured out sooner than later.

Thank you Lionel. That means a lot coming from you. You are the very definition of persistence and success. I have never seen someone that has so much fun fishing. All your pictures show it. I am way to serious about it, but that is my way of loving the great outdoors.

Sorry to hear Jamie, I've been there myself a few times, all based on reasons out of my control, so I know what you're going through. Just know it will get better and days will get brighter, even if it doesn't seem like it right now.
