Maybe try the old faithful the nk watermelon....slower ,then speed up when over fish , even with the lakers the suspended fish are the active fish..imo

Try a gang troll with a spin and glow 2 feet behind it!

Will do. I was using gang troll with lure. Any particular color for spin glo…anything with green i assume?
Still troll that at about 1.5 to 2 mph?
Thankyou for your comment.

White based or chartreuse spin and glows are the best colours I’ve found. Yes under 2mph 5 feet above bottom.

I am assembling my spin n glo’s.. I know i need to be on bottom, but concerned about getting a downrigger ball caught and breaking a downrigger etc… Can anyone explain exactly how I should go about using the spin n glo’s close to bottom?
Now using 10 lb ball on rigger….
Thanks.

I’ve hung up before but remarkably little considering how often I’ve bounced the cannonballs. Always have cable cutters handy, especially if it’s rough out and make sure your rigger clutch is properly set. You won’t damage a rigger that way. Don’t bother trying to get unsnagged unless it’s flat calm, just cut it. I generally find 5 feet above bottom is plenty adequate. You’ll know your on bottom when the rigger bounces. I’ve done plenty of bottom trolling and only lost one ball.
