Two words. Floater Suite. Took a long walk on the shore and surrounding areas this morning. Lots of pressure cracks. Some sponge ice... thin spots... thick spots...slushy spots. There was two guys out all day yesterday we were watching them with the binoculars. And today saw a new trail going out on the lake but looked like they returned on same trail. Couldn't have been out there very long. Foggy today as well and a bit of snow falling now. Here is some pictures.

I am not saying don't go fishing. I am saying wear a floater suite and bring all the safety gear. This is a weird winter to say the least. Have fun out there and stay safe.

We just had some fish for dinner. I have never bought fish from a store in my life. Just open the family freezer and take some out. It might sound weird but store bought fish isn't really fish is it. If you didn't catch it yourself it does not taste as good does it.

No BBQ this time. Big frying pan..add bacon fat..add fish..Potatoes and coleslaw on the side as usual. Nothing ever fancy done around here. Not even sure what a fancy meal is.

Well there is people ice fishing out there. It's just a good idea to use extra caution this year. The OPP says there has been an increase in people going through thin ice this winter in Ontario. It's easy to stay alive when following good safe practices. Play safe all.

More fog then yesterday this morning and some snow machine tracks from last night along the shore. Saw quite a few machines on the rail trail from Lindsay to Fenelon.

LOL....I sometimes sit for 2 hours before I get the shots I want.....He was nervous because you were to close for his comfort. Hard to keep them settled with the camera you are using.... I would shoot that shot with my canon camera and a 600 mm lens and be 6 times the distance away. They hardly know I am taking the shot.....but that would cost you a chunk of change......you are getting much better I must say....keep up the good work.....I dont buy fish in the store either.....it's all in the freezer......running low on Perch species so will be fishing them shortly. Pretty much the limit or partial limit of every other species in there......I always say to people "I know where my fish come from do you?

I did a photo shoot on a family of Ospreys......here is the male in flight. I was in two foot waves in a 14 ft tinny....with a 400 mm lens. Thats why a slight blur. He is about 80 to 100 yds away from me.

OK one more....a barn owl also shot with a 400mm lens. Note that this one has no fuzzies cause feet were firmly on the ground and no movement of the camera and lighting was substantial.

Yes I was very close to the bird maybe 20 feet. Lucky he was busy picking at the branches. Great photos you put up thank you. Can't wait for the Osprey to come back and lead me to the crappie this spring and all season long. Nature's best fish finder. Good luck when you get out for the perch. Hope you guys catch a lot. I only catch the odd perch as you can see LOL.

Where about did you enter sturgeon? On the weekend there were a couple permanent huts out front my cottage at pleasant point. Ice was good last weekend. Not sure if the hut have been removed or if they are just gonna wait it out.
