Real windy out there! Holy moly that’s bitter cold. Fished 9-2. Landed one Whitefish and 16 Jumbo Smelt. Tough day, bigger marks were sluggish. Only the smelt were consistently vicious. Fished 45 fow. brrrrrrr. And yummmmmm… smelts!! I was a little blinded by the light in this shot!!

7” snow and 7” ice about 50/50 black/white. No slush at all. Walking was decent. 16 fat smelts for dinner guests.

The whitie came on a meegs with tipped with mayfly larvae.

My uncle’s old Ukrainian friend who I swear has fished every lake in Southern Ontario gave me some soft plastic crayfish he poured and dyed himself. They actually look quite similar to this. Can trade some with you next time we’re out.
