Can't speak to Minden conditions specifically, but I was over in Gooderham 10 days ago fishing on a small lake and there was 12" of ice, I would've expected more like 18-20" by this time of year on this particular lake. I'd hazard a guess that the big lakes in Minden are likely behind as well.

Thanks Ron, yah I can’t decide between Gull and Crystal. Supposed to get a load of snow, not keen to go on sketchy ice.

Passed by that general area today. I didn't see anyone on Boshkung and have no idea of the ice conditions but on Kushog, I saw a permanent hut on the ice and a snow machine out there....on the HWY 35 side opposite Goat Island but again no idea of thickness of quality of ice on the lake.

Big lakes have 4-6” ice. Small lakes 10” ish. Very inconsistent and lots of white ice, very little black ice. The odd pocket froze late like Simcoe port bolster and have 6” clear black ice but only small pockets. Some huts are out, some lakes nobody will venture out still. Will be open water fishing by end of march, a full month early if we don’t get a wicked cold snap for 2 weeks.

This new snow tomorrow (and high winds) won't help. Again, just as we have lost the snow cover on the lakes and finally getting a bit more cold temps, the snow comes. Hopefully, it won't be as much as in the forecast and the continuing cold temps will help make ice.

Talked to a dude who spudded out 500m on Gull today, was good ice but came back in after spudding 2 inches. He was fishing all last week but said it has thinned some out further. No huts except for one in Miners. Not this weekend for this guy...S##t. No sign of anyone in Cedar either today, although its new snow on top. Today at 2-3pm. Drove the circle tour LOL.
