For all those hoping to fish up in Muskoka...well, the ice is likely better than when I had fished last (about 10 days ago) but we have had a decent snow fall and we are in another larger snow event right now. There is at least 15 cm on the ground when I woke up this morning and the heavy stuff just started about an hour ago (supposedly will last for another few hours). The walk out just got a bit tougher....looking forward to my cardio training coming up when I get out for my next fish...time to break out the Smitty sled. And be careful out there because the snow will be hiding any poor ice that maybe out there.

Sounds like you got off easy, change your cm to inches, that’s what fell here, then some more

...okay. Now I feel better We actually ended up with between 35-40cm by the time it started to slow down. I am running out of room to stack up the snow (no exaggeration). I have had to move snow around because for some piles, it's too high for my snow blower to blow the snow over - just hits the wall and falls back down. The next bit of snow clearing will happen over the next few days when I take some off the roof...it's coming down at some point anyway so better to take it off while fluffy and light than wet and heavy with chunks of ice - where's that strong wind to blow the stuff off the roof when I need it? Metal roof and it can come down like an avalanche when it let's go. No eavestroughs when we moved in....and now I know why. Neighbours around here with metal roofs also have no eavestroughs...at least not anymore if they had them to begin with.

Fisherman...I as just thinking that today. It really felt like we got more since Thursday than all winter....if not, at least about the same amount. I was thinking that it was a blessing to have had the Xmas melt and the other warm spell a couple of weeks ago or the snow would be even higher.

Yeah we got Im guessing 20 inches. I didn't even bother fishing today with the winds. Took the sled out before dinner when it stopped to start to beat down a path for tomorrow. It was plowing the whole way. Tomorrow looks great. Low wind and sunny. Cold in the morning though

I just took a load off one side of my roof with a snow peeler...bought it in early winter thinking I may need it but never used one before. Worked surprisingly well and I was able to reach the top of the roof as well. And the snow being still quite light and fluffy (although when it hit the ground, it packed in some so was a little harder to get off the ground), it was much easier to deal with than waiting for it all to come off the roof by itself with all the ice to boot. I still have to do the other side but no time until Wed when it is suppose to be well above zero....not liking that but I guess I get to test the snow peeler out on the wet snow as well.
