Just had to get out before the rain !! Don't they say fish bite better just before it rains ??? Access to the lake still decent and walking was slippy this morning. Out on the ice at 7am and there were about 7 of us in total out there. First hole in about 13 feet had fish underneath right away. A few smaller ones and then 10 minutes later a nice 12 incher !! I stayed at the same hole till just before 10am and then called it quits. Managed 8 that were 12/13 inches !!! But boy did I have to work for them. VERY finicky and would look at the lure for a long time. Did manage to catch other smaller ones in between. The walk back to shore was much different. Water was on the surface from melting by the very warm wind and in some places about an inch deep already. Who knows what the access will be like from now on with the rain and warmer temps.!!! ROOK
