Looking to see if anyone has details on Lake Temagami conditions. We are supposed to be heading up for our annual trip this coming weekend (March 8 thru 12). We have been talking with the outfitter we are staying at and know the lake is completely void of snow so that will be an issue for the sleds. Hoping someone may have some ice thickness reports from around the lake.

Thanks in advance for any information

Well I can tell you that the ice on the closed ice road today was supporting the back and forth driving of vehicles I saw - 4000lbs. Snowmobiles and utv’s still buzzing around with an inch or so of water on the ice to lubricate. Mucky pothole roads and parking lots.

Appreciate the information for sure. I was looking at the "OUR TEMAGAMI" group on face book and there were some comments in general there being 15". Obviously this will vary but verbatim from the board they had the following:

" Currently these is an average of about 15" of ice in the holes we have drilled from high rock to the lodge"

That was just posted yesterday. looks like the rain was going to turn to snow and get slightly cooler so that may help.

Such a frustrating ice season this year.

Appreciate your post in helping, still on the fence if we will be going this weekend or not.

We have since canceled our trip, information on pressure cracks opening up, open water out by cattle island etc.

Sucks since we have been doing this trip for the past 15 years. Sums up this winter in having to cancel the season finale.

looking forward to 2025.

time to get the boat out for Spring Chinooks.

Cheers.

Yeah a season too short to accomplish everything in the usual expected timeframe. Next year going to try and jam everything in before March just in case.

Yeah-yeah. Next year you may be growing palm trees in your backyard, due to global warming.
Each year it's getting warmer and warmer. A few years ago we were driving trucks on the ice of Simcoe Lake.
