This is crazy.
I was down in the Florida Keys for January/February and just got back. It was an average of 21-24c down there. When coming back, I looked at the forecast and saw 17c and a possible 22c in Barrie. Now it's going to be 17c a few days this week. What's going on?
In the Keys, it was "the cold and windy Feb" the locals can remember for a long time. Many of the Floridians wouldn't swim because they said the "74F water temp was too cold to swim," hahaha. I'm like, dude, our lakes top out at 74F in August; this feels like a sauna
I hope you guys got some good ice fishing in, at least in the short period of time you had.

And at least the trout will be running soon!
I was told that they were running all winter,
Yes they have been running all winter. Typical spring run spawning Steelhead run Feb, March, April. Warm conditions and open river they will run earlier.
I have been out twice recently. Landed 7 a few weeks ago and 11 more a week ago.

On Friday afternoon, I saw three groups out on the ice (fairly close together) on the very northern part of Simcoe (I was in Orillia looking south)....I was quite surprised.
