Well done and good on you getting out there so early and what a beautiful day!

NICE!

Don't tell the ice fisherman crew. Shhhhhhhhh.

But I prefer open water fishing to looking down an ice hole all day.. LOL

Awesome! I was out there today and couldn’t buy a fish. We fished shoals out between snake and Georgina and marked some big fish, had a couple chases, but no hookups. Tried in shallower, all depths around Sibbald and nothing on the perch front. Fished 8:30-4pm. Chilly day out there today with no sun. Put my 9.9 to work that’s for sure. I forget how big that lake is.

I think the issue right now is murky water after the ice melt
Perch is a sight feeder so in murky water on the overcast day they may not feed at all and spread out making them very hard to catch .
Shallows are still cold so it’s a bit too early for them moving shallow in big numbers .
Good luck on your next outing .

wow. Some of those look well stuffed. Did you really catch 3 at a time or is that your stringer?

Great day on the water!
I'm hoping to get my boat ready this weekend (of course they're calling for snow LOL).

I remember maybe 9-10 years ago the ice went out early. It was March break - the kids were playing ball hockey here in Barrie, and there were still boats out in Kemp chasing lakers and whities - before March 15th.

Pretty sure that was 2012. Early out everywhere that year.

In 2012 it was also early ice out but not as early as this year
Mar 13 there were still some ice and people have been rescued
This was after 26 people have been rescued from floating ice on Mar 9 2012
I know about it as a buddy of a buddy was rescued that day . That was quite a story at the time .
