I didn't calculate this yet, as there were still some late registrations in mid-Jan. But for a few weeks now no new registrations. So this is what the payout will be for this year's derby (unless we get some late registrations). We needed 20 participants for the 5% payouts to break even and we did it. Exactly 20 people joined. I know it's been another tough year with a mild winter (so far). So those who did not get out, including myself. I understand.. I know the payouts are not that great. I tried to add more categories to make it more interesting. More participants than last year, at least.
Here is the math. I didn't take anything out for the stamps and laminated tickets. It's ok. Didn't cost that much..
Cheers and thanks to all those who are participating.

Thanks for putting this derby together. Glad to join and not necessarily looking for a payout but would not object, lol. Now I gotta start getting some entries in.

The final day for entries is March 15th at midnight.
So a couple of days left to enter your fish.
I know it's been a short ice fishing season, but lots of entries this year and some real nice fish.
Well done by everyone!
Getting ready to do the draw. I am not sure which day I will be doing the live youtube draw. Most likely Monday March 18th at 7 PM. This is a tentative date. I will confirm in a few days.

You are a great person for doing this as it has to be a lot of work. This is how all tournaments should be would take away a lot of the cheating you get in other major tournaments.

Wonderful idea, clear system, easy way to submit the entries, lots of fun. I wish there were much more people participating in this tournament. Metalbuckle - thanks for your work and joy you gave to us this short winter season!!

Thank-you for the kind words.
I used to compete in tournaments many many years ago, when I was a greenhorn and just getting into the sport. Was turned off from it, after witnessing some unethical practices and cheating. Anyways..
So yes, I like this format and I like this friendly tournament. I brainstormed it a few years ago and never really launched it. But thought last year, why not give it a go.
Glad we have some participation.
The draws will be tonight at 7 PM from the LIVE youtube (I will post the link here). I don't use my account that often but I should be able to figure it out. I did it last year. I will login to the youtube account later and play around with it, to ensure I am set to go..
