Thx everyone....will post reports.
JB yes monster pike 20 to 25 lbs and 3lbs Perch.......my mobility is limited on this trip as I plan on scooting around on a bike until I am comfortable with the rules of the road. I plan to be coming to Ireland more in the future as my daughter lives there. In future trips I will probably rent a car. Fishing will be different for sure. No live bait allowed and no barbed hooks. Will check on this but inland fishing no license needed unless you are fishing salmon or trout. In videos I see most use multiple rods so as no relatives fish and regs are hard to find....I will first visit a professional type Tackle store and ask many questions.....like do I need a non resident license?
Arnie
That's nice , Arnie.
Ask your daughter to find out the fishing regs and license info for you.
When I was planning my trip to Ireland I also opted out of renting a car there as I don't know how to drive on the wrong side of the road

Daughter stopped fishing years ago and has no interest at all....better if I just go to the table store as they will have everything I need to know in knowledge and possibly a license.....daughter already said I don't need one and I don't believe that....lol. Most I have already read their regs but they are unclear on licensing and do not mention non resident anywhere.
I do know that March 20 was the opening of pike there..

Maybe you don’t need it if you’re fishing in the ocean.. I’d say inland for sure though. Always a great time fishing in new places, good luck over there!

The way I read it is as I said....inland only need license if fishing trout or salmon...but I want to check with a pro tackle store. In the sea....I will find out from the charter captain if I go. I also need to confirm if I need a non residence license as I cant find that anywhere in their regs.Thx for the well wishes.

So let me ask that perennial question: "How's the ice on Lake Joke"?
After you, James. How heavy are you?
LOL. Well my weight is like I could stand on and ice fish on some lakes where most of you guys can't :-)
It has been pretty cold up here. But, I am of the "heavy bone" kind so I think I am staying off the ice until next year (unless we get another 2 weeks of the same cold...which I don't see coming). So, it's going to be trying to get ready to get out as soon as there is open water up here.
