I'm a newbie to Crappie fishing (in fact I haven't even started) and I'm relatively new to the Honey Harbour area. I'm hopefully some members may be able to direct me as to what kind of tackle is needed, (rods & reels, lines, lures) and generally where to look at this time of year (early spring).
I'm not after hotspots, just what depths they like & areas they prefer in early spring (sand, rocks, old weeds etc)

Here is a picture of the bait I mentioned in your PM. I do remember telling a Forum member to search all those back bays in that area for crappie. I just don't know much about finding crappie adjacent to deep, deep water like Georgian Bay. I know where all the crappie hide in the Kawarthas though. Wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction out on the big water. I am hoping another member that knows that area can give you some options. That St. Croix Pan Fish rod I mentioned in your PM is definitely the best. Affordable, great quality and warranty, and a very strong rod.
