Drove about 15KM to another launch of the lake, and at least there are some ice along shoreline access, so walked onto ice and walked on the lake for over 200 meters (600 feet), and ice fished at around 31 fow, but didn't mark anything the whole time other than some smelt. (In fact I knew there are literally no fish, whitefish or laker that is, off this launch, but what could I do when I wanted to wet my line on ice?-)

Too bad about the fish, but like you said, nice to get out. You are a brave soul going out on the ice. Almost time to get out the kayak. Is that a Pflueger reel? That's all I use for all my fishing.

Thanks, and yes, that is a Pflueger reel, and I have many of them, large or small and for ice fishing and for open water:-)
