Pickering Power Plant?

I'm curious if anyone still fished off of the power plants down in Pickering?

Back in the 90s I used to go down with my Uncle (in March if I remember correctly), and hammer the trout. We used to get some beautiful browns.

I haven't heard of any reports from the area over the last few years.

Trolling, casting, jig, spoons?

We would troll (flat-line) with jerkbaits, but there were boats out there probably jigging or fishing minnows. Later in the spring they would catch white bass and carp as well... Out where the warm water discharge flows out.

I fished it last summer for the first time in 10+ years. Caught a few large drums and a couple of smallmouth bass, was really fun until Durham marine unit came out to see us. Think power plant security was watching us fish and as soon as I took a picture of the area they called the cops.
