The long weekend was a beautiful one weather wise and the fish cooperated as well. The water temperature went from 59 Thursday evening to 70 by Sunday late afternoon. Fished Thursday evening after unpacking. First fish came on the second cast with a husky jerk bait 4 ft of water 22.5” walleye. Last 3 more good fish at another spot at dark in about 10 feet of water using swim bait with a slow retrieve. Didn’t fish until Saturday during the day not much activity until i went back out around dusk till dark. 3 nice OOS bass and 3 walleye 15”,16” and 18”. Back out Sunday evening this time on a west shoreline instead of east and got 5 walleye and 2 bass. The walleye were from 15 to 19.5”. 4 of the walleye were caught in 4 casts. Crazy action in a short period of time. The walleye were hungry and hitting very hard. All came on swim baits retrieved slowly 8ft weed/ rock transition. The mayfly hatch has slowly started.

Thank you for your report, it's appreciated.
You mention a swimbait, was it a paddle tail?
And more out of curiousity, have you ever tried it with an underspin?
They have been hitting hard lately, quite cool to see.
Now that they mayfly hatch is happening the bite will only get better until it's done.
Thanks Attila The swimbait i was using was a paddle tail, which is usually what i use. It was also on and underspin jig head( The Thumper) by northland i find they work well. The fish are hitting very hard and aggressive
