Abitibi summer?

Just wondering if anyone’s familiar with Abitibi in the summer? What’s to expect when reaching the lake? Maps look like there could be some structures around but it’s not very clear.

I have gone in numerous times in the winter via the Munro Lake Road. All the structures on shore at that location are likely seasonal ice huts in storage. The last 8 km in winter is by snowmobile and has some fairly narrow sections. Not sure if a truck would pass or not but my guess is that it would. That being said if I was going to access via that road in the summer i think i would bring an ATV as well as a boat. Park the truck at the +/- 20 km mark and use the ATV to haul the boat to the lake. A little hard to say with certainty in the winter but there does not appear to be a launch so i think you would need something you can launch from a beach.

Alternatively you can put into the river from a proper launch off the Twin Falls road and follow the river to the lake - just a bit of a ride. Or if you drive further east there is a launch and some parking at the end of the Ghost River road. This launch puts you into the Ghost River pretty close to the lake.

No clue what the access is like on the north side but looking at the Map there appears some type of access at Eades on the east and Low Bush on the west.

Be warned that lake goes from glass to 6 foot rollers faster than Nip and faster than any lake i have ever seen. Wide open, bigger then Nip and only 8 to 10 feet deep.

Species is correct. I almost died crossing that lake when I was a younger man. It gets eight foot rollers on it and it can be very difficult getting to shore as much of the shoreline is clay flats. You can bottom out and still be 200 yards offshore with breakers coming into the boat. I literally kissed the dirt when I managed to get to shore, then I immediately proceeded to use my Buck knife to cut my gitch off.
