Fished this past weekend with my cousin and friend, morning and afternoon sessions breaking during the middle of the day to get out of the sun. Overall, fishing was slow, the surface temperature of the lake has risen a few degrees since we were last up (2 weeks ago).
The first half of Saturday was spent searching for lake trout and whitefish at some new locations on the lake. We marked several fish but weren't able to get any to commit. By noon, we decided to mix things up and target bass, catching mostly smallmouth and one largemouth.
Sunday morning we returned to a bay that we had scouted the day prior. We setup on a 55' saddle between two deep basins. As we dropped our lines, a pair of fish intercepted us on the way down, one picking up my cousin's swimbait around 20' and the other disappearing off the graph. With our attention focused on the high mark, my friend suddenly hooked into something near the bottom, most likely the second fish. A stocked lake trout, 68cm:
After some tough fishing on Saturday, it felt great to have boated a nice fish.

Anyone able to identify the stomach contents? It looks to be some sort of small crustacean. My friend thinks they could be bloody red shrimp:
