well put the cameras out today, cleaned the 3 shooting lanes, and sighted in the Xbow. Now all I need are the deer to cooperate. Need to do it fast this year as the bush has been sold. So will loose access once the new owner takes possession. Which could be anytime.

That’s too bad the land has been sold. Wish you luck before the takeover!
Hopefully you have a plan B in place…….

I do have a plan B, but as it is B it is no where as good as A. Out of 20 deer maybe 4 have come from B and it is a lot more work involved. Oh well, spots come and they go. Will keep an eye open for another spot, but at least I will still have a place to hunt.

Good luck on your hunt, hopefully the new owner doesn’t hunt and let’s you on still….I’m in the works of getting a xbow tuned up for this year. It’s older but will be a great introduction for me. I’ve hunted many years with a rifle so I’m excited to try something new.

Iceman, I will ask them but not holding my breath. Crossbows are great I made the move about 10 years ago. I still miss my rifle but the bow opens up a whole lot more days to hunt. If you don't get to bold on the distance the xbow will be just a deadly. I will not shoot over 30yds even though the xbow is accurate to 60yds. Most of my deer are 20yds or under. Last year I got 2, first buck was 6yds and 2nd buck was 18yd. So good luck and shoot straight.

Ya the extended hunting period really appeals to me, it’s hard with a busy family to be able to spend a long time hunting/away right now, the xbow will get me up north on weekends. Good luck out there I’ll let you know if I get anything.

just wanted to wish all who are going out tomorrow for opener good luck.

as you are aware my bush has been sold, with March being the closing date, that be good for me. Problem is the new owners want to take possession as soon as they can get the money together so that could be anytime. So now I have a conundrum. I normally let Does go until mid season, but if I do that I might not get a deer. So now I have to question my thoughts, shoot or pass on a Doe? Guess that decision will happen on the spot. Hopefully any deer that comes by is a buck so there will be no question to shoot. Last year I didn't have to pass on any deer as the 1st 2 deer that came in range were both small bucks.

Hey I say go for it if you want to make sure you have some meat in the freezer especially if you see one that’s decent…
