Had a chance to hit the river recently. Couldn’t pass it up. A buddy and I started late at about 10:30 but the fish were hitting. Hit a Chinook 2nd drift and then hit several Steelhead the next hour or so. I ended the day 5/9 on Steelhead and several Chinook which I didn’t count. My friend went 3/5 on Steelhead and also several Chinook.
If your looking for some good eats like I was these sure make the grade.

Wow fantastic fall chromers.. Well done! jealous
I used to fish that spot all the time when I was a young lad in my 20's..
How did you guys know they were moving through, it's so hit in miss there!
Cheers & congrats!
I watch a ton of weather patterns. It all has to line up just right for me to go. Even when it does sometimes they don’t come in. In this case we nailed it just right. Up by the wire guys were fishing hard. I got a spot and spent 30 mins there. I could count the steel stacking behind the Chinook. In that 30 mins I hit three in that spot and my buddy hit one. After that it got crowded so we split to quieter water.

Nice.. I know the spots by the wire and yes they sit in behind the chinnies in that slack water. It gets crowded fast and waiting to cast in the drift, bothers and tires me.. Even if there are fish around, i generally move to where you guys were..
Beautiful chromers once again! Well done Dave and crew
FYI by the wire in the slack behind the chinnies, I use get real nice pink salmon back in the day. Haven't caught one for nearly 20 years, anywhere anymore..

That is some solid chrome! Well done! I haven't fished the tribs in probably over 20 years (I got tired of fighting the crowds! LOL) Looks like a nice quiet spot you have.

Well done Disco….some beautiful chromes. I haven’t tried this early in the season for years but retirement gives me a little more free time. May try in the next couple weeks.
