Nice work HM. Delayed my first day out until i am sure i am good to go with the sled. Based on the numbers i am hearing and the forecast, i am planning for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. The skiff of snow although bad for ice formation was needed for slider lube. Figure we will be 10+ inches by then if the forecast holds.

Is this upcoming snow storm going to hit Callander and what will that do to the ice?

I don’t see lots of snow coming. Likely some blowing and visibility issue for a bit.

Was on all night from Friday till Saturday afternoon.

5-6” of nice solid ice. Friday night was slow, on Saturday morning at least 50+ pop ups on ice + vendor setting up their huts for the season. Nice cold temperatures up there as well.

Yall stay safe out there!

Was out yesterday off Sunset and there is a solid 9 to 10+ inches of ice in spots.

I would not go too crazy out there but it is good. Saw a few sleds and ATVs but not enough for me. Vehicles are even parked on the ice at the landing but there is very little water in that location.

Be cautious out there still.

Callander on the far side we had 8-10" but it was strange Ice because when you put in the ice anchor the Ice would fracture really strange. Big chunks would flake off.
Lots of Snowmobiles and ATV's out.

A few ice quakes but that amount of fish through the ice is something I have never experienced in such a short time when Ice fishing (Lost count), when I say non stop I mean you couldn't even get all the rods down most times.

Dead stick was just one after the other, literally hit the bottom fish on, jigging got a few.

1 pike
1 Cisco
(Lost count) Walley and they were healthy chunky fish.

Between 3-6 it was absolutely non stop can't even light a smoke action.

I measured 12” of ice in my holes today. Light layer of snow on the ice with some slippery spots. ATV’s and sleds all over and some vehicles out at shacks too.

13.5 inches of the hardest black ice i have seen in long time at the Manitous today. Slippery as F! Auger was actually spinning me around the hole instead of turning the auger. Feel like that ice would support a Russian tank!
