Moon still up on the west side, sunrise on the east side when I left home this morning.

Drove for a while. Found a lake. Found some ice.

Caught some speckies.

Caught on;
Live minnow (caught on site)
Dead minnow (reused after taken out of a caught fish’s mouth - which it stole off my other line when I wasn’t looking)
Vibrato,
Frozen, freezer burnt minnow,
GULP minnow on jig head (which was a drop shot, with a live minnow a foot above)

Hope they taste like brook trout

15” is great size for stockies. I got out on Saturday with my son for hour and a half, 2-4” ice mostly 2” though, minimal to no slush. Half dozen guys out. Lost one, I walked to the car to set my son up as he was cold, and my buddy ran to get my set line I had down (still within legal distance) and lost it. That was my one shot I missed. The fish was waiting for quiet to bite (my son is not quiet lol). Right after we packed it in my buddy sent me a picture he got a nice one! About 14fow with an egb. Now I’m looking forward my first fish but probably won’t fish there until after this warmth, need to wait til after rain and freeze again for where I was. Weather looking very promising.
