QUOTE (Brooktrout @ Jan 03, 2025 - 02:51 pm)
QUOTE (fishfood @ Jan 03, 2025 - 10:06 am)
Might of been a good thing for the ice to restart.  Almost  14.5 inches  of snow since Wednesday night.  Vb had a half the amount  yesterday  as we had a good 8 inches in port in the morning. .  Not sure how much they got since then.  Was only a dusting in Keswick well yesterday morning

I was thinking the same thing.
Now we area getting some cold weather, so the wind can lay down any time.

Definitely wouldn't have been good. Beaverton got close to 2 ft for sure and we are expected to get another 20 to 40 cm Saturday into Sunday.

Next week we should see some things starting to shape up nicely.

I went for an ATV ride out to the end of both Lockhart Rd and Mapleview Rd - No solid ice yet, but a fair number of icy chunks floating near shore. I'll take a look again on Wednesday or Thursday after the really cold weather and will report back.

Wtg! Nice catch. Doesn't look like much snow where you were. How much ice were you on?

Drove down to the end of Lockhart this morning and it looks like it's finally locked up. Hopefully the snow stays away for a few days while it's cold.

That's great, thanks. Were you able to get any ice thickness measurements?
