Carthew Bay was somewhat frozen but the second you exit the bay to the big water the ice thickness along the shore is less than an inch, scary!
Someone created a nice rink in the shallowest part of Carthew Bay - very shallow in that section so the ice was thick and safe. Some homes further out into the bay did the same but the ice there was much thinner - not a good idea!
Taking Lakeshore Rd from Carthew Bay and other lake adjacent roads all the way to Allendale GO I could see lots of open wet patches along the shoreline - definitely not ready.

Willow was still holding when I went by at 130 pm . Talked to a guy that came off of Kennedy it was starting to Crack and move around. The guy said that is why he got off better be safe then sorry when that wind picked up. . Said it was 8 inches on the pack ice and that only goes out about 200ft off the dock. The wind is picking up I sure hope she holds. The ice after that is very thin .
Wife saw a post on Facebook that someone may have went in another said it was training so I'm not sure this was yesterday afternoon. However I did see a big wet spot off the beach right at the fresh ice and cracks forming out the the lake from the winds

Unfortunately the heavy winds did open up willow area and across the lake to the other side. that fresh ice shifted a bunch even a spot away from willow shifted and created open spots. Stay safe we should be able to get a clear sat pic today.
