Only a week to end of season, any one else still hunting. I have 4 days scheduled to hunt the bush I'm losing after this season and the last 2 days of the season which I have scheduled are going to be raining.

Good luck this week. It’s hard hunting this time of year with only days left. Mother Nature can throw you any scenarios. I’ve always enjoyed hunting in the snow though. I look forward to hearing how you make out. Cheers

I had a terrible season all together but did get a button buck. My daughter and her boyfriend stopped for three deer in the road and someone not paying attention ploughed through the button buck. She called me and I collected it. Only lost about a third of one back strap and the rest was perfect. Not the way I wanted to get venison but I wasn’t passing it up either.

well I hunted Christmas day and boxing day. Christmas morning I had a Doe broad side at 40yds but I don't like that distance so let it go, when it finally saw me and took off it had a fawn with her. that night I had 4 come out about 40yds down from me in the field, they stuck around awhile then feed the other way. Today was sick coughing and sneezing so no surprise I didn't see anything. So it comes down to the 30 and 31st to get my second deer.

Good luck Steve.
My son and I are still hunting but only have a buck tag left. We have seen quite a few deer but getting close is always the tough part. The rain here hasn’t amounted to much.

We got two roadkills the same way…just right place at the right time. We only lost rib meat and part of a back strap on one and the other had a broken neck. We butcher our own so it works out really well.

well tomorrow and tuesday are almost here. Weather forecast for tomorrow is winds 35K sustained and rain in the morning. I'd normal never go in the bush with winds over 20k and that is pushing it, but figure it to late in season to be picky, maybe there a really stupid deer out there. Tuesday winds are more respectable and no rain, so last day much better. I agree light rain and light winds are ok, my 1st deer this season was sleet and light wind. I missed out on my north trip as I hurt my back few days before, it somewhat better now Good luck guys

well I got what I expected today. Woke up with snow on ground and raining. Got to bush no snow and pretty heavy rain. Sat there for 2.5hrs and never stopped raining. Went back this afternoon for 2.5 watching a field this time with full sun, still nothing. So it down to tomorrow, AM should be good to watch field, afternoon supposed to be heavy rain again, so going to have to think hard about going back for evening hunt. I sure hope i can seal the deal in the morning.
Good luck to tomorrow to those that are still at it.

well I have a sad tail to tell. weather looking like no go this afternoon as 90% chance of rain so needed to get it done this morning. Setup and loaded at legal light. 8 minutes later I see a deer tight to the bush 25yds away with lots of brush in the way. I just sift my bud in chair not moving anything and it hears me and gone. Figure that was my one and only chance, but going to stick it out till 10. At 9 I see 2 deer on the other side of me in the field to far for a shot and still not in front of me. Then I see another and another and another, 6 in total. my bow is not raised and now there way to many eyes for me to lift it. One walks right up to the bush and moves my way. it 10ft from me broad side but still can't lift bow. It turns and faces me at 10ft. It decides it doesn't like me and jumps off. there is one standing broad side 30yds out so lift bow. Sightit in and more walk between me and target so have to wait. finally I can take shot fire and they take off, luminuk does light. I watch all the deer run down the field for a Km, no deer lagging and all flags up. I watch them till they get to next road and they stop and turn north. I go check for blood or hair, nothing. I pack up and head for jeep. Drive down to the next rd where they were. I see them in the corn field short of rd all 6. I go to end of rd and turn around and drive up a lane that 100yd from them. I get out and they all take off back to bush again all flags and no stragglers. So I have to assume a clean miss, it know I was there so probably did the jump the string thing. I don't like missing as you never know, but I'm confident that it was a clean miss as I know they went at least 1.5K and no signs of a hit. So season done for me time to fill out survey.
