Anybody out with machines today?
Have my ATV loaded on the trailer, and I know Taj is running he argo... but my atv doesn't float as well as his argo so there's always a bit of trepidation each year taking machines on first fish (but then usually we get out there and realize it's totally safe enough for machines!)

Argos float....sleds dont float....ATVs sink faster than sleds......I always go by walk on 5......ATV on 8....right now we have 4 to 6....I will give it a week or maybe 2.

Was out by myself with Taj driving me out to the fish grounds on Thursday for the better part of the day. Got my limit of 9- 11 inch fish in 4 hrs. plus 1 herring. Lots of small ones released. Had a great time, seen a nice fox as well. Thanks Taj for a great fishing experience. Gordon

Just throwing this out here: If you've read my post from Friday about fishing Cook's Bay you know I did pretty good. I forgot to talk baits. I had minnows and waxies but they weren't necessary. I caught the majority of the jumbos on either a tungsten jig tipped with a funky plastic or a lure Taj gifted me years ago. (After the first use I purchased a couple of backups knowing this would be a confidence bait.) This thing looks more like something a Goth would wear in their ear, and friends look at me funny when they see it tied on my line. It's ugly, but heavy for a fast decent into the zone and seems to p### off the jumbos. They'll smash it on the bottom, they'll chase up to just below the ice, and they'll even wait up high and ambush it on the drop. If Taj recommends a bait, go with it.

Great job! Glad you had a great time, I always think we need more icefishermen, it's such a great community. Especially on Simcoe, and out of PB. Taj is the go-to guy here, he will put you on fish, move you around if necessary, and is super attentive to your needs. Had a great first-ice two days at Taj's, caught a ton, and highly recommend his outfit:( Casey's Ice Huts ) to anyone! Thanks Taj, Karl.
