I tried calling again this morning. There was a hard freeze which made walking easy and little to no wind. My friend and I got out at first light and our first calling spot yielded no results. I tried pushing a piece of swamp towards him but nothing came out on his side of the bush.
We had time to try across the road so we walked over and set up in a ditch on the edge of some thick bush. After ten minutes of calling my phone unexpectedly rang as I had forgot to silence it.I quickly fished it out of my pocket but instead of silencing it I answered it by mistake. As I was talk in to the person quietly on the phone a coyote popped out of the bush . My friend didn’t see it so I set down my phone and shot hitting the coyote but it took off running so we both shot again. I picked up the phone and told the guy I had to go deal with this coyote. We followed a good blood trail to the edge of the bush where we found the coyote dead.
