Went up to the Nip for the first time with 4 buddies and stayed at Chalkley’s and had a great time. Thanks Jeff for the nice cabin and Keith and Mike for looking after us on the ice…making sure our minnow supply was good and just checking up on us to see if we needed anything. The fishing was slow at times…marking lots of fish but the bite was very light. We ended up with 38 walleye, 5 perch and 1 pike over the weekend. We had 4 keepers and 4 over the slot including a pb 25.5”er my buddy fought for a while.

Well done gents. First ice is usually best but great to hear there is decent action later in the season. If you're looking for a cottage/day hut operation they are hard to beat. We reserve our spot for the next season before we leave.
