The cold snap really slowed the bite down from last weeks reports but we did ok considering that we are just starting to warm up again at a balmy -6C. Got there about 7am and in the hut by 730am. We had a good morning wave come through where we picked up a few jumbos but mixed with dinks. The afternoon was mostly dinks with the odd small keeper. We fished until about 430 pm and just enjoyed the relaxing day. We caught about 60 fish and kept about 20 Perch, 3 herring. We also rebooked for the 29th and looking at the predicted weather, Moon phases, barometer and fish predictions Port Bolster looks like it will be a very productive day. Here are a few pics of today's fish.

Very nice! Been debating on whether to buy an electric knife. I am a bit of a dinosaur and don't use electronics of any kind when fishing and love my custom filet knife(s). Had them made by a 4th generation blacksmith in Alberta and when cleaning perch if i stay focused i can do 25 to 30 fish per hour and only need to touch up the knife with a fine hone every 100 fish or so.
Have to give cred to newfs as well as i was taught by a newf friend about 50 years ago how to efficiently and quickly filet any fish boneless and skinless.
