Hey everyone, first post on here. Heading to the cottage next weekend for some fishing. Did well for perch in the past but want to try for whitefish, lakers, burbot or pike. Would Whitefish shoal hold whitefish? Never caught one and want to attempt to cross it off the bucketlist. Thanks everyone

I have only heard through the grape vine that Moon Shoal ice has been terrible this year because of all the snow. I did hear a bad fishing report for Moons for whitefish but I haven’t heard more than one report.

I've been chasing perch at the north end, and haven't gone after whities yet. However, I have been marking and seeing them in the perch areas.
Last weekend there were some good areas of slush on the ice. I didn't get down to Moons shoal. There more snow squall action today (Friday) so there may still be some slush build up - especially around the cracks. No issue for a snowmobile, but the ATVs were struggling.
Good luck - I hope you can cross them off your list!
