It was dead for the first 80% of the trip (no marks for about 2hrs). Then a couple of large blobs that looked strange. Finally a solid mark that hung around and slow chased a couple of times before a faster chase and I hooked into a laker just over 21". Not too much of fight until just under the hole and then the thrashing head shakes began but I was able to get it's head into the hole and it's beating tail propelled it right out of the hole and onto the ice....nice and thanks because it was hooked on the lip by only one point of the treble hook. This time, my little guy and wife were right beside me and I was showing/telling them what was happening on the sonar as the chase was going down and then the hook up and landing of the fish (he didn't like the large mouth of the laker when I was removing the hook) . Kept this one for the neighbours again. Had some more blob marks again for another ~30 min. of fishing before having to pack up but nothing too determined to chase.
