Hello fine people of the fishing forums!

My dad is about to turn 78 and I want to take him on a fishing charter as a present. Last time I asked the forum for a recommendation I was put in touch with a Longshank who took us on a great couple of outings on Lake Ontario. This time I'm seeking a recommendation for something in the Bay of Quinte area. I've read that the spring time walleye fishing can be lights out! Would love to get in on that action.

Has anyone been out with a guide on those waters?

Call some local bait shops. They know best.

Check out St. Lawerance Outfitters. Bob is an excelent guide and knows where the fish are. There are quite a few guides operating out of Picton in the fall. What time of year are you looking at?

Sorry, you mentioned spring and I missed it.
Opener and early season can be busy and tough fishing. Mid May up untill the shad show up is usually pretty good for numbers but mostly smaller local fish. If your after a trophy the migratory fish start moving in late Aug. and just getts better right up till freezup.

Good luck and let us know how you do.

Wow!
I really messed this up, sorry for the confusion.
Not St. Lawrance Outfitters. They were on my mind for an upcoming trip. I meant to recommend Kingston Sport Fishing. Captain Bob knows the area well and is good at putting fish in the boat. Can find him with an easy Google search.

Another option is Bay of Quinte Charters. Captain Scott Walcott is very knowledgeable in that area. We did a trip with him in the spring many years ago (probably like 10 years) and had a great day with smaller/good eater size fish. We caught walleye, pike, silver perch and a gar pike.

Fishing for Tails is great. Greg Ameil is an amazing captain.
