The public parking lot in Gilford is $35 I believe. You might find cheaper parking at cooks bay marina. Lots of snow on the ice so the walk out may be challenging.

For $30 a person you could pay Taj at Casey’s to give you guys a ride out. Way better deal, especially for bad knees.
35$ for parking is insane. You drive along the shore of Nipissing and there is endless free parking. Our lakes and waterways are for all Canadians!
At $30 a person plus at least $10 for minnows, I feel you would get better value by just renting a hut. If you want you could still walk around the area and use the hut as a base camp? He supplies you with endless minnows when renting. If you're not catching and he has another hut available, he will move you.

There should be a public group or just something... for more lake front residents to offer parking and access. As I know the west side does and pretty sure their neighbors hate it...yes thats why everyone parks on the lake, or you know just buy a truck trailer and sleds/bikes. I went to fish a stocked lake, no public access, was tempted to knock doors, especially after driving for a couple hours. In the end it's a hobby with tasty benefits that can be as expensive as you wish. That's why they say it's $200lb. Lol excluding labour.
