Maybe better than age limits is IQ and mental capacity minimum limits. I haven't seen a politician in the last couple of decades that has been anything but for himself/herself. Seems things have changed and not sure how those things that have changed them, can be easily fixed as there is too much at stake to change things now. The future should be interesting at least.
