If you're coming up to spout the anti Canadian rhetoric your "leader" spouts, probably best to stay home. If you're coming up to be respectful to our people and resources, by all means, have a great time.

You probably have more to worry about if you talked smack about that hockey game ))) Unless your leader can handle taking over a "tiny" canal and a land that has even less of a military than Canada, then I'm not going to waste too much oxygen thinking about it and treat those comments as mere brain farts that made it out his mouth.

There is more than one million Americans living in Canada. Some of the best people are outside and inside our borders. Welcome back and good luck on the fishing.

It doesn’t say anywhere in the fishing manual about bringing politics into the equation on your leisure day out! Enjoy making awesome memories with your grandson.

ya sure you can come but don't expect us to be nice polite and smiling like before you poked the moose and also if you plan on taking perch home you will have to pay a tarrif on them, they are made in Canada!

we abide by the laws of your country. You have the right to make those laws. As do the people of our country. Fish and be happy. That's what I plan on doing.

As you can see, the vast majority of Canadians realize this isn't personal and you'll be welcome, especially in the fishing community where we know a lot of operators need the support of their businesses.
But that's not universal - thanks Spooner for demonstrating (unless you're being sarcastic) - so yes, be prepared for some side-eye and perhaps less friendliness than experienced in the past.
Side note, I really wish people would stop booing the US anthem. I get it, there's a lot of frustration, but that's not our way. Canadians I know and respect would rise above the rhetoric and not engage in juvenile t##-for-tat disrespect.

Thanks guys for all your support. In the past 25 years of fishing up there I've met nothing but great people. Been to many bars and restaurants and on the ice. So I guess soon as this snow settles down I'm bringing him there. See you on the ice.

I am sorry I am a bit off topic here.
I just noticed in your post "with Randy from port bolster , sorry to hear he died January":
Is this Randy on this board with handle/user name: rainbow?I have fished together with this Randy i am talking about a few times a few years back including ice fishing, shore fishing, and salmon fishing (on Longshank's boat, and with Admin/Jerry as well)....
