The randy who passed is from Port Bolster and ran fish huts and house raising. Rainbow Randy is in the Dundas area . I fished with him for many years but he has stopped. This gives me th need to call him.

That is sad. I fished with Randy in my early 20’s. My first ever ice fishing adventure was with Randy. I use to go with him every week. He use to snowmobile me out to a local friends hut in trout ground and forget about me until the next day! Great man!

I have been coming to Simcoe for years . My older friend got me in to ice fishing. Went out with Randy from port bolster , sorry to here he died January.
I am sorry I am a bit off topic here.
I just noticed in your post "with Randy from port bolster , sorry to hear he died January":
Is this Randy on this board with handle/user name: rainbow?I have fished together with this Randy i am talking about a few times a few years back including ice fishing, shore fishing, and salmon fishing (on Longshank's boat, and with Admin/Jerry as well)....
And I am very sorry for the loss.
Hey James,
Yes as stated, it's a different Randy. This one used to run an ice fish service from the access point at Casey's. RIP a lake legend for sure...
Rainbow (Randy) hasn't been active in the forum in quite a few years. I hope he is OK. Always a fun guy with lots of jokes here in the forum and on the ice...
As for the original post, no reason to stay away. Enjoy and go fishing.

Thanks Jerry
And yes as I have fished with Rainbow Randy quite a few times in the past, he is indeed a funny guy. Missed him (haven't heard anything from him on this forum or on the water or on ice for a very long time)
