On my extended travels this winter its obvious that mother nature has been very generous with the white stuff...here in Wasaga we got a bunch, midland, penetang etc got lots more....so with this mass of snow are we going to have a dramatic runoff...the nott here is fed by the pine, boyne, mad and many small creeks...we could see a runoff not seen for many years , weather dependant..
Will it bring our GB levels up from the crazy low levels in the past couple years, time will tell..
Anyway food for thought ...no one can predict mother natures agenda but it could be an interesting spring...

There were a few major storms that brought us a good amount of snow but the majority of it this year came from the lake squalls. I don’t expect the lake levels to rise that much. Notty spring run off will be something to see

I can remember back around the winter of '89 or '90 when there was a big run off, all of a sudden the ice on the local rivers piled up and then let loose in a massive flood down the Mad, Pine and Notty. The small plaza in Angus was under about 3 feet of water and the Notty overflowed, water running across highway 90 by the small 9 hole golf course. Rather not see that again.

Hope we dont have a past reciepe repeating...not sure of year but here in wasaga..with a cold winter such as this the ice became very thick and when the spring current built up it flushed that thick ice down to the mouth where as now with only 3 ft depth it stacked up and built up a ice dam , the river upstream rose very quickly promting our fire dept to visit home owners on that stretch of river to have a bag packed and be ready to leave quickly if told, never happened but sure cause for concern....hope no 2025 repeat...

Ya, I can remember some of those, had a friend that lived close to the mouth and it came up into his back yard at one point, needless to say, he had brownies in his pants.
