The ride back in was hair raising. Took 1 hour and 20 minutes to cover 11 km. 60 k winds, heavy snow and absolutely zero visibility. Drove one handed the entire way with my orienteering compass in my other hand. Got to shore 300 yards south of my truck.
Phone GPS was garbage. Showed me on shore the entire day - without good compass and ability to use it I would have been fooked.

been out there a couple times driving in circles. i use to use the rentals for a landmark but in zero visibility doesn't help much. just an fyi theres a good packed flag line off sunset that will get you out 2/3 of the way. in so so weather you can usually spot a shack. guessing thats what cut your fishing short.
