Hit the ice for some perch solo today.

Called around for a fishing partner, but unfortunately, all my friends were very busy.

Started off very slow, tried 16 feet of water and never marked a fish for a half an hour. Moved to 20 feet of water and started marking fish within five minutes.
Managed to get some decent eaters right away. They were coming in, in ones and twos, followed by quite a few small ones. Just as they really started to turn on and hit hard, they completely shut off. It was amazing, I had at least 50 fish sitting under my hole on the bottom, not even moving an inch.
Kept 12 in total, eight of which were 12 to 13 inches.

Excellent
Good to hear.
What part of the lake were you fishing?
How thick is the ice?

Nice catch

That's not a bad haul. Hoping to get out for some panfish soon...I still need something to enter into the derby...so far, not a single panfish...wow!

The ice was great. Everything crusted over so walking is a breeze.

I was fishing the west side. It a spot I found years ago with very few people so I kind of keep the specifics quiet.

Not a bad catch for the day! Some great eating for sure.

I was up north and could only fish on Saturday in the wind. LOL I was sure wishing I could've got out yesterday. It looked like a beautiful day to be on the ice.
