Will be fishing Nippising next week for a few days, I have an Ion auger, just wondering if I should purchase an extension for it before I get up there?

Yesterday i measured:

22 inches of black
1 inch of white
6 inches of snow

Supposed to warm up with rain mid week and then freeze up again so snow may melt down into slush and refreeze adding a bit more white by Thursday this week.

I am using an extension but not because i have to just so i don't have bend over as far when drilling.

Thanks for the quick and detailed response Species, appreciate it. Next question, after a little mild weather coming up, Yamaha grizzly with tires or sled?

Yesterday would have been fine with ATV for 85% of areas i crossed (+/- 25k on sled). One or two patches of slush next to what i will describe as newly developing pressure cracks.

I think if we get the rain that is forecast and everything refreezes as forecast an ATV would be okay in areas i travelled (Basically from government dock out to and around Manitous and back)

There are some older cracks that are still there. On Friday one was only open an inch or two but had widened to about a foot open by Sunday night. Also lots of 3 to 4 foot high ridges associated with the older cracks.

Very helpful, thanks again. Will likely check in early next week see if things have changed. We are headed to the cottage near South River this weekend and I might drive up to South Bay to have a look myself. Thanks again
