Nice meeting you John(Flukes). Started to fish around 715 am by 10am I had landed 5 pike and 4 Crappie. Oh so close on the derby size overs.Crappie was 13.5 inches and the Pike was 28.5,Drew keep holding your breath lol. By days end had landed 10 pike and the 4 Crappies. Who needs spring ,let's keep this going I'm just warming up lol. Have a Crappie day.

Wow, you caught a few more pike after we left....of course you did. I guess it was us being the bad luck for the hour or so we were there fishing with you...and chasing away any decent fish. Very nice meeting you and chatting with you today (I was stopped at the parking lot by a CO who wanted to check our licenses)...what kind of operation are you running out there )))) He even checked my cooler where I put the pike and crappie you donated to us. At least I got a derby entrant...and you can attest that it was my fish and that I didn't just take a photo of my wife's perch for the derby. Seeing what you have caught, I can't believe we only manged two small perch but it's hard to concentrate on fishing with a little one running around and a wife that was a bit under the weather. great day out and they enjoyed it as well. I won't even post a report but will enter my monster into the derby thread directly.

That's so funny John, checking out a family of three in the parking lot because he was too damn lazy to walk out and check people actually fishing. Was a pleasure meeting you and family.Next time you.must start earlier or start late and stay later. Timing is everything, the window is short at this time of year.

and I asked if he was going to head out on the ice and he said "nope"...I showed him my son's blue rubber fish fishing pole and he had a good laugh but said it was a good idea because no hooks to worry about.

You should check your tape measure Dale. That crappie sure looks like 14 inches to me.
After we arrived, I put my measuring board down for his almost 14"er...it was close. And then took a photo of him with his big crappie and the big pike at that time. Dale: sorry you didn't get that 30+" when we left. I thought us leaving would have done the trick.

no, no, no. We have lots of ice fishing still. And the best times are still to come. There is much more time for soft water than ice fishing so shove that groundhog back into his hole
