Whats the differences in the 3 jigs? Is one better then the other? To me these look very simular and the colour and sizes seems the same. Foxys have a tail tied in it were the bad boys and meegs dont. I also understand some guys use crappie tubes for the tails and some times put the whole jig inside the tube. But is the a major difference in the jig itself?

You forgot my favourite, the Nasty Nick! I have all of them. Only difference I have found is price and colours. And little foxys have the tail. I too have made a tail with a tube jig. Probably my favourite hard water baits these are. Many sizes and colours depending on your target and conditions. Good luck.

I use the humpback creepers. I did buy a lot (25) of meegs but the paint fell off and he could not care less when I told him. So I do not recommend meegs unless you want lead coloured jigs.

I like the Meegs since they have a great body shape and postion properly when sitting on bottom.
Don't fish the hardwater as often as i used to so having paint probs is not an issue. They still work and you can always buys a paint spray if inclined to do so. no big deal there.

Matzuo makes the same style jig but with a red hook. They have great looking eyes as well. Pack of three at CT for 6 bucks when you can find them. If not I like the bad boy jigs.I like to add a tube skirt and fish minnows. If you miss a fish at least you know you still have the tube on.

The power of the forums! Post dislike and 8 hours later resolved and satisfied! Well done
I have a bunch of each beside meegs. I like putting the tube on the end rather then the ones that come with a tail. That is so I can switch between colours. Might not make a difference but my mind thinks it does.

TD has no respect for his elders whatsoever. The biggest factor in enjoying consistent success with any of the jigs mentioned (plus the Shoal Digger and the Cowan Cobra) is in the presentation. I consider the jigs being discussed as a finesse type lure that require some direction and practice. Don't give up on them as most can prove very productive (I have never used the Foxee or Matzui). For novices, the Vibrato and Williams Whitefish are easily mastered and might be a better choice with which to start. If you can somehow arrange to accompany an experienced ice angler, watch their technique very closely and copy their presentation. Odds are you may have to keep a very sharp eye on their rod tips because the most successful anglers appear to be doing very little to nothing when using the lead minnow and tube jigs.
