Greetings, My friend and I were lucky enough to spend a few hours on the hard water the other day. We keep two and tossed back about 8 smaller splake. It was a little unnerving when walking there was 1 inch of ice then water then solid ice. I don't think I will ever get used to that...

great looking fish. I couldn't agree more about the ice. I did that once, top ice just hard enough that it took some pressure to break than the fear you would keep going.

Yup...that was us up here last week at one point. Then I saw a dark area and decided to use the spud to test....that one went all the way in. Usually I don't get too scared of those conditions once I know I am not going past a few inches, but after that darker spot, I was a bit tense and went a bit more slowly and kept an eye out a bit more.

Drain holes are the the real hazard this time of year. And now we got 2” snow last night to hide it all.

Would you mind sharing what you were using ??? Minnows ??? I got skunked so was just wondering what I need to UP my game ROOK
